Harinam Sankirtana on 2nd August

We all have had different experiences and realizations in our life after getting into Krishna consciousness. There are some incidents that give us so much energy that we get highly inspired to serve Lord Chaitanya and his devotees. These moments we always want to keep fresh in our heart because it increases our faith in Krishna. Its so blissful that we want to share it with our dear ones so that we all get encouraged to take part in Lord Chaitanya's mission. keeping this in mind we have tried our best to put those moments in words for your pleasure. So please do accept these attempt of ours to be a service at your lotus feet.

Ever since we have started going out for book distribution on Sundays (for two and half years) after Lumphini park programs, we have experienced so much of bliss. There are moments that we want to actually go in the middle of the crowd at the street, jump and shout at our top most voice " Please take these books and be happy". Now since devotees have started going out on harinam once a month along with book distribution. People on the streets are more receptive and familiar with the "Hare Krishnas' " in Thailand, Bangkok.

Last Sunday,August the second, After lumphini park program we all went for Harinam and book distribution near Thammasat University. The harinam party were heading quite fast so I was just trying to give people on the street some books. Mostly were the footpath sellers but they were very generous. Some of them were joining their palms when I passed by and called me to give them books and gave donations. One man said "Hare Krishna right?" Then he called his friend to buy books with smiling face. I always get very surprised to see how people actually are ready to serve lord so willingly and they are very happy doing so. When I joined harinam party after an hour they were so much in ecstasy. One Thai man joined them and started playing flute with the devotees. Devotees even more encouraged started dancing around that area. He took a book very happily. Then one African man came and started taking our video. He started dancing in kirtana. After getting the maha mantra card he started chanting also. I was busy taking photos he came to me and gave me his video camera to shoot his ecstatic moments in Bangkok.

Then we all went to one park nearby, as it was about 5 pm. The devotees were so ecstatic that they all started dancing in the middile of the park. Everyone started looking at us and smile. Then one japnese man of about 30 came and said "HARE KRISHNA, I like playing guitar so can i record you sing? You sing with me." We all happily agreed. Chim Mataji asked " Where are you from?" He said "Japan". Then he sat on the grass folding his leg and started singing to our surprise ..

hare krishna hare krishna krishna krishna hare hare,
hare rama hare rama rama rama hare hare"


We all looked at each other with delight in our face. Then he went on and on with the maha mantra. For about an hour we chanted with him. Then told us that he stayed in India and chanted hare Krishna maha mantra on the street for 6 months. One guitarist taught him to chant maha mantra. When he went to japan he could not find any temple in Osaka now he's happy to meet devotees in Bangkok. He also promised to come to the Lumphini park program with his guitar when he's in Bangkok.

All the devotees were discussing how transcendental the day was. Each of us could see Lord Nityananda's mercy flowing to everyone, with no discrimination. For he is "Patita Pawana", he's still allowing sinful souls like us to take part in this glorious sankirtana movement. Our humble request to everyone is to please bless us and pray to the lord to allow us to take part in this movement forever, for his pleasure.

"The word kriyäsu, meaning "by manual labor" or "by work," is important in this verse. One should engage in practical service to the Lord. In our Krishna consciousness movement all our activities are concentrated upon distributing Krishna literature. This is very important. One may approach any person and induce him to read Krishna literature so that in the future he may also become a devotee. Such activities are recommended in this verse.... Such activities will always remind the devotees of the Lord's lotus feet. By fully concentrating on distributing books for Krishna, one is fully absorbed in Krishna. This is samädhi."Srimad-Bhägavatam 10.2.37
